The challenge
Gato Arcano is a niche online store: board games, collectible card games and role-playing games, in a competitive and very seasonal market. The brand and the website were no longer keeping up with the growing catalog or with new customers arriving through search.
What I did
A long, sustained engagement, not a one-off intervention:
- Rebranding and a new website on WooCommerce: design direction was led by a designer, and I turned it into a real store, functional and maintainable.
- Custom development and improvements to the store over the years: catalog adjustments, templates, and whatever the day-to-day of the e-commerce called for.
- Continuous evolutionary maintenance: the site stayed healthy and up to date through more than two and a half years of monthly management.
- Technical and content SEO: architecture and indexing, product pages, and constant monitoring in Search Console to capture real demand.
Result
With the redesign and sustained SEO work, organic clicks from Google Search multiplied by 20 during the engagement, with impressions growing more than 30-fold. The site went from living almost entirely off its own brand name to ranking for generic, competitive terms in its industry, which bring in customers who didn’t know the store yet.
The work has also held up over time: almost two years after the SEO engagement ended, organic traffic has held steady and even kept growing (Search Console, 2026). Well-built rankings don’t collapse the day after you stop paying for them.

The starting point
Almost all traffic came from people searching for 'Gato Arcano' by name: anyone who didn't already know the store didn't find it. And the website couldn't keep up with the catalog or with the rebranding that was coming.
